VLT offers two types for data transfer:
A) the transducers with transmission of the data by cable to the VLT Roller Brake Tester controller, and
B) the wireless models where the data transmission is made by radio frequency!
Both systems have advantages and disadvantages.
Cable models
The less expensive cable type Air Pressure Transducers ( VLT 1063) are fitted directly on the tapping points of the air brake system and from there the cable goes to the connection box. The VLT 1032 Pedal Force Transducer is fitted on the brake pedal and connected to the Roller Brake Tester with a cable.
A disadvantage is that the vehicle is limited in movement and it takes little more time to install.
Radio frequency models
The radio frequency models (VLT 1764/20 and VLT 1734/100) are much faster to install, no cables on the floor. VLT’s new range of Radio Frequency Transmitters is extremely fast, close to real time transmission of the data to the VLT Roller Brake Tester controller. The time-saving by using the radio frequency models compensates the higher investment most of the time. Up to five transducers can be stored in one charging station.
